Singing Lessons with Marion Rouvas
Understand Your Voice. Strengthen Your Technique. Build a Voice for Life.
Our Approach
Whether you are discovering your voice for the first time, preparing for performances, returning to singing after a break or seeking a deeper level of professional development, Voiceology offers personalised vocal training designed around your individual voice.
Led by Voiceology founder and lead vocal coach Marion Rouvas, the Voiceology approach helps singers develop healthy, reliable and expressive voices through strong technical foundations, practical understanding and exercises selected for their individual needs.
Marion has spent more than 30 years helping singers, performers, teachers, speakers and aspiring artists develop greater freedom, confidence, control and vocal longevity.
Your journey begins with a one-hour Voiceology Vocal Consultation.
Begin with the Right Lesson Approach
Before committing to ongoing singing lessons with Marion or another Voiceology coach, every new student begins with a one-hour consultation with a Voiceology specialist teacher.
This applies whether you are:
beginning or returning to singing lessons;
looking for advanced vocal coaching;
preparing for an audition, performance or recording;
experiencing inconsistency, fatigue or limitations in your voice;
a singing teacher seeking development for your own voice; or
exploring Voiceology from the perspective of a teacher or prospective trainee.
The purpose of the consultation is to understand your voice before recommending a longer-term lesson structure.
It gives you and the Voiceology team the opportunity to explore what you need, what you hope to achieve and how your lessons can be approached most effectively.
What Happens During Your Consultation?
Your consultation is both an assessment and a practical vocal lesson.
Your Voiceology specialist teacher will take the time to:
discuss your vocal background, experience and current training;
understand your goals, concerns and expectations;
listen to how your voice currently functions;
explore your range, registers, breathing, tone and vocal coordination;
identify important strengths and areas requiring further development;
introduce relevant Voiceology exercises and concepts;
answer your questions about singing, vocal technique and the Voiceology approach;
recommend an appropriate lesson pathway; and
provide Marion or your nominated lead coach with clear information about your requirements.
Where appropriate, you may also discuss your performance commitments, teaching responsibilities, repertoire, previous vocal difficulties or any advice you have received from other vocal professionals.
The consultation allows your future coach to begin with a meaningful understanding of your voice rather than spending the first several lessons trying to establish where to start.
An Approach That Complements Your Existing Training
The Voiceology approach helps you understand the foundations that support all singing, regardless of your preferred genre, repertoire or performance style.
Voiceology training can complement your:
current singing lessons;
musical theatre training;
choir participation;
acting or performance coaching;
tertiary music studies;
studio and recording work;
professional performance preparation; or
work as a singing teacher.
The aim is not to make every singer sound the same. It is to help you understand how your own voice works so you can sing with greater freedom, reliability and choice.
Voiceology focuses on building a voice that can continue to grow alongside all your other vocal training and practice.
Lessons Designed Around Your Voice
Following your consultation, the Voiceology team will recommend a lesson approach suited to your needs and goals.
This may include:
private lessons with Marion Rouvas;
lessons with a Voiceology Accredited Teacher;
a combination of specialist and lead-coach sessions;
short-term coaching for a particular performance or goal;
ongoing technical vocal development;
professional development for an existing singing teacher; or
a more specialised Voice Rescue pathway where vocal health concerns require additional attention.
Recommendations may also consider your experience, availability, location, preferred lesson format and the type of support most likely to help you progress.
There is no obligation to commit to a long-term program before completing your consultation.
The first step is simply to understand your voice and determine the most valuable way forward.

Meet Marion Rouvas
Marion Rouvas is the founder of Voiceology Australia, lead vocal coach, seasoned performer and creator of the Voiceology approach.
For more than 30 years, Marion has helped thousands of singers, from complete beginners to experienced performers and recognised artists, develop and restore their voices.
Her work grew from her own experience as a young professional singer. After developing vocal nodules and undergoing surgery, Marion began questioning many of the accepted vocal practices she had previously been taught.
This led to decades of research, practical application and teaching focused on helping singers develop strong foundations, greater technical understanding and sustainable vocal habits.
Today, Marion works with singers and singing teachers who want more than a temporary improvement. Her goal is to help each person understand their own instrument and develop skills that can support a lifetime of singing.
Take the First Step with Your Voice
You do not need to know exactly which lessons you need before contacting us.
That is the purpose of your initial consultation.
During your one-hour session, a Voiceology specialist teacher will help you understand your current vocal needs, begin working towards your goals and recommend the lesson approach most suited to you.
You will also have the opportunity to ask questions and decide whether Voiceology feels right for your voice, your training and your future.
Build strong foundations. Understand your instrument. Develop a voice for life.
